The 40 foot Western rigged fishing vessel Capt M. Buster was sunk in
heavy seas on December 15,1983. At the time she was en-route from
Wellfleet to Plymouth. A National Guard helicopter rescued her
captain. According to the Cape Cod Times the National Guard would
have tried to save the vessel but it went down fast. "We had hoped
to put a second pump on board and save the boat. But the dragger
sank within about three minutes after the helicopter arrived".
