INDIA ARROW
 The steel hulled steam powered tanker India Arrow was built in 1921.
She was 468 feet long had a62 foot beam and displaced 8327 gross
tons. On February 4, 1942 the India Arrow was en-route from Texas to
New York with a cargo of oil. She was sunk by a torpedo fired from
the U-103. The Arrows crew quickly boarded life boats. They escaped
but would remain adrift for three days before being rescued. Today
the India Arrow is believed to be a wreck which sits upside down in
180 feet of water.
Remember
penetration
into any shipwreck should only be done by those with proper
training, experience and
wreck diving equipment.
Scuba equipment like powerful

navigation reels,
dive knives
as well as redundant air supply like a
pony bottle
or
doubles are standard gear for wreck
divers.
