COAL BARGES Pensacola
Three 300 foot long Coal Barges were sunk in 1974 as an artificial
reef. According to Gene Ferguson, they lie end to end in 50 feet of
water. The wrecks lie in a line on a clean sand bottom and have
become broken up and scattered. Gene goes on to say that this is a
very large area to explore, visibility ranges from 30 to 40 feet,
and that the three wrecks support a vast amount of fish. This site
is also known as Three Coal Barges.
