CAICOS EXPRESS Broward
County
This 188 foot Dutch freighter was originally built in 1956 as the
Waalborg. She had a 29 foot beam and was powered by a single diesel
engine. Sunk as an artificial reef on November 12, 1985, some
sources claim that the ship had been used as a set for the popular
television series, Miami Vice. The Caicos Express now rests in 240
feet of water on the Rodeo Reef Site. This wreck is not recommended
for recreational divers due to her extreme depth.
