CIVIL WAR WRECK Pennekamp Park

The unidentified shipwreck known as the Civil War Wreck is one of three main shipwrecks sunk in an area known as the Elbow. She sits on a bottom of sand and grass in 25 feet of water. All that remains of this wreck is some wood beams held together by iron pins. According to photographer, Steve Frink, this wreck is home to several spotted morays. Other wrecks sunk within The Elbow are the City Of Washington and the Tonawanda.

Basic shipwreck information and images for this section of this site was taken with permission from the book Florida Shipwrecks by Daniel Berg. You are invited to submit your shipwreck related articles, images and information. As long as the text, photographs, sketches etc are of professional quality we will showcase them. Full credit will be provided and a same page link to your web site can be arranged.
